My mom decided to go with me which was awesome due to I made it as a mother/daughter day since we never get one of those anymore. We arrived about 12pm and looked around it wasn't big as I thought it would be I thought they would have more tents more stuff for people to do and not just kids but my mom and I went to grab our spots right in the front J and we stayed there and watched the band's that played throughout the day. As we got there I went to the merch tent and brought a shirt of Brian's and I found out that I just had missed him doing sound check L but we did get to see Mandisa do sound check. (I have to say I really cannot stand people, everyone in the red shirts had to be known about me and somehow said I was a trouble maker, which is complete B.S.) Well during the day as I was walking by the stage I noticed Brian in the tent and everyone was holding hands saying a prayer which was cool, and so I went over to see if maybe they could just have him sign the newspaper I had brought, sadly it didn't work out, I mean you could notice him out of everyone he was wearing a orange shirt, everyone else was wearing either red, white or yellow, although MOST people there with the red shirts I disliked, they had no reason to treat me like they did, well my mom warned everyone that came like my cousins and aunt it was pretty fun we were making jokes about it.
It what seemed to be forever but 6pm finally came and Mandisa from American Idol came on and she was really good I enjoyed her set I took a couple of picture's and a video and later on my mom helped me get her book since I was low on cash she just really made everything seem so right about life and totally made me think about things in life. The Katinas came on and they really did pump up the crowd I wasn't really expecting them to be that good but I was into them and let's just say my mom and my aunt was jamming to them ha-ha!
It what seemed forever as usual until Brian came out but when he did everyone cheered, especially me and my mom which explains why we lost our voices ha-ha!J Before Brian came on they did another prize and they mentioned that all the girls in the front had been waiting all day and so they were going to give away a package, which was a shirt, CD and a poster and so he choose a fan down the end and she didn't know so I finally raised my hand and said I know, which the question was "What is the name of Brian's album" I replied "Welcome Home" the NICE guard came over and shook my hand and told me congratulations J
When he came out he sang two songs then I kept yelling Brian, and he finally noticed and goes "oh does someone have a question" I was like "Yes, me" and I had him read my sign that I had made earlier in the day (thanks to my mom) and yeah Brian goes "You want me to stop in the middle of the show for 200 people just to sign your folder" I was like "no, I meant what is inside, I took it out and showed him the newspaper I'm like this is us in the paper from 2004" He goes "Oh I'll sign it after the show" My mom turned to me and said "Thanks Shannon, I've never been so embarrassed in my life" ha-ha opps! :X
During the rest of the show he kept goofing off and interacting with the crowd, especially with me and my mom, and I thought it was so cute how he waved to my cousin Autumn, and he noticed my cousin Tiffany and totally intimated her and I just had to laugh. I have most of the show on my digital camera since I had a good spot.
As he finished his last song he said he'll come back for one more song which never happened but I hoping he would since it would have been for Over My Head but no they had fireworks ready at 9:30 and that just ticked me off like no other so Brian never came back on so I went over to the side again where everyone was standing to see if he could sign and the people were telling me he had left and it was so great as they said that Brian comes out walking out of the camper LOL!
Well I didn't think he was going to come over so I started to run over to the other side and I didn't notice him but I saw that van he was getting into so I ran back over and he was just leaving he didn't stay for very long so I then ran back over and saw him and I was like "Brian, you promised, please"! So he asked a guy to come over and grab my folder so he opened it up and I saw him signing the newspaper but then he stopped and put it back on his leg and the guy came back to give it to me, and I yelled "Thanks Brian" and I left when I got home I noticed that he had signed the poster that I had won! J totally wasn't expecting that!
The fireworks was going on but my mom wanted to head home since it had been a long day for both of us so we left and got home about 10:30ish.
