Backstreet Boys
October 31st 1999
Denver, Colorado
Pepsi Center
Before The Concert:
This day seemed it was never gonna come. I woke up about 7:00am *yawns*, got everything ready, then I got ready about by 9:00am. My boyfriend Eric came and got me and we got to the Pepsi Center around 11:15am. I saw their tour busses, which I thought was pretty cool. After an hour or so, I talked with a security guy, and he said that the guys are at the Bronco's game and would be back by 4:00pm. Well, I didn't wanna stay, so I called and ask Eric to get me, he did so I went back to his house until about 3:00pm. I went and brought some BSB stuff, and please shoot me now, I spent 300 hundred dollars. I got 5 shirts, set of pins, a medium pin, postcards, book, a BSB light, glow stick, sticker, backstage pass thing. (CRAZY ME) *ahem* anyway Eric hanged out for about 20 minutes or so, then he had to go so I told him my good-bye he also took my 2 bags of stuff I brought and I met a friend from school there, so we went to the other side where we heard a lot of screaming fans. Nick just came out and went backstage, then came back out to tease again. I saw AJ and Howie go by, which was pretty cool. Finally it was time to go back and I saw my mom in line and I just told her what happened, and she then told me that some of the tour busses was at the hotel she works at, I helped my friend find her seat, then I went to find mine. It was awesome, since it was round stage, I was 10th row.
The Concert:
Three guys came out in like silver jackets and walked around stage, it was EYC. They sang about five songs. It was time for BSB now *nods*. Smoked started coming from the stage, and an appearance was from the Backstreet band members Bubba Bryant, Louie Vigilante, Dennis Gallo, Tommy Smith, Guy Walker, and Mindi Abair, then their ten dancers came out marched holding huge glowing spears on poles.
Then there was screaming fans onto my left, and that's where the BSB was coming out of. There were in this huge box getting hooked up by wires, fans around it could see them.
Lights go off, every fan is screaming, music came on, they all started flying into the air.
Brian was pretty low, and he wanted to get higher and he couldn't so he started flapping his arms it was cute. Once they got on stage, the dancers unhooked them and went to each section. Kevin would nod his head four times to change sides. When they came to my side, I was screaming, I was so happy to see the boys this close. Nick and AJ looked at me, I smiled. They actually had to wait awhile, because the screaming was so loud.
*Larger Than Life*
Great song to start with. They wore in bullet proof vests, gray spiderman esque shirts and blue pants. Love the dance to this song *nods* *Get Down & The One* I loved this performance *Introductions & Costume Change*
Each guy came out and welcomed us to the show, and talked for a while.
Nick Carter came out first he welcomed the audience to the Millennium Tour and asked us if we liked the album.
AJ McLean came out afterwards, he said Hi, so many beautiful ladies in the house tonight. I love you guys and thanks for the support.
Howie Dorough came out and just said that Colorado has it going on.
Brian Littrell came out quickly, and said "Quick thing to share with everyone of you makes theBackstreet Boys and thank you"
The last one to come out was Kevin Richardson, and he explained to everyone what happened, when he came out everyone gasped. he went snowboarding and did a little mishap, and that he will try his best doing what he can at tonight's show.
*As Long As You Love Me* They wore sharp turtlenecks, long coats, and did their most popular chair dance. *Don't Want You Back* This song is awesome. They danced on these ladder things, Nick almost fell off his. They did a quick costume change, all black leather. *Spanish Eyes* Love this song! *Quit Playing Games (With My Heart* I love this song so much *sigh* during the chorus, everyone but Kevin got attached to these wires and flew over fans again, handing out candy and teddy bears since it was Halloween. AJ kept doing flips lol. Nick looked right at me, and smiled at one point. *The Perfect Fan* This song is beautiful, I can't describe it. five daughters and mother's got to go on stage with the boys and sing and walk around with them. I love this song. *Don't Wanna Lose You Now* Kevin was playing on the piano while it was coming down the ceiling, playing a beautiful debut with Mindi, she was playing the saxophone. The boys joined and sang. Nick played the drums. *Everybody (Backstreet's Back)*
What can I say to this song, I love it and the dance routine. *I'll Never Break Your Heart* They had pink pants, gray vests. They sat in chairs that they sat on the revolved in the center of the stage. Kevin looked at me here *sigh* They followed this with *No One Else Comes Close* then they sang *Show Me The Meaning Of Being Lonley* their dancers had red flamenco style costumes. they also dedicated this song to their writer producer Denniz Pop who died last year with cancer. They had pink dusters and fedora hats to complete their soot suits for *All I Have To Give* Their encore started with *It's Gotta Be You* followed by this, they introduced their band, and dancers. Howie also did some rapping which he did good at. It was time for their last song for the night they ended it with *I Want It That Way*. They had enough fireworks and confetti to make the crowd more wilder. The two minutes of the show, I moved down to the front and some fans left so I took their spot in the front center. I was getting squished from fans behind me. When Howie was singing his part of the song, he was right in front of me singing, making eye contact, and he also winked it was wonderful.
Overall, it was an awesome concert, I enjoyed it. I'm glad I went! It was an awesome experience to even share with my mom. =)
