Mix Tape Festival
August 17th and 18th 2012
I flew out Wednesday early morning and had a layover and landed in Raleigh, NC about 4:30pm. Met up with my friend Anna and we hit the road to do our evening plans.
The next early morning we got ready and hit the road to Hershey but first had to do couple of stops on the way (picking up her friend and also meeting with a friend of hers to chat for awhile)
The drive seemed to go by fast since it wasn’t much traffic and we arrived in Hershey about 1 or 2pm and checked into the hotel.
Pretty much did whatever we needed until the BSB gathering that evening, I even passed out on the bed for a hour or so (can’t blame me, the bed was so comfortable) LOL
Before heading to the event we drove to Hershey park and looked around and also got to see how they were setting up the stages and such then we headed to Fire Alley for some drinks and food and had a good time talking with some fans and friend’s seeing old and new faces.
Next day was the day one of the festival we ended up having some drinks on the lot and having a pre-party of our own I eventually went to the venue myself because I wanted to see Aaron Carter and of course it started to rain and while that I met up with Jenny and we hanged out for a bit. Watched Aaron perform and I felt like I was 15 again it was so good to see him perform again since for me it’s been since 2005 but yes he did amazing well and I loved that he performed Candy and Aaron’s Party good times!
Shortly after that I was on my way to the box office for something and I ended up meeting Aaron and we took a photo together after he got in to the van I went over to ask him something (if he remembered me) and then I explained the little conversation we had when we had met and he asked me how I was doing and such and I told him he didn’t keep his promise which was keeping gin touch with me and he said he will and shook my hand ha-ha.
I met up with my friend Katie shortly after that and we hanged out and talked for awhile and eventually I went to waited for NKOTB to come on and it was amazing show I loved seeing them perform once again. I shook Jordan’s hand twice, Jon’s and Danny’s hand once and all I know is that NKOTB show worn me out I was exhausted LOL. I headed over to the other stage to watch Kelly Clarkson perform eventually headed back to the hotel.
August 18th
Today was festival day two is here and let’s just say not enough sleep but I will somehow get through the day since today is BSB day after all!
Instead of hanging out for the pre party again I went ahead and went to the venue and waited it out until they opened doors to kill sometime I did look around the vendors including Wylee. Sadly to say the least I didn’t make it through I was getting sick and my anxiety was starting up before the doors even opened so I had to go sit down and get checked on to make sure I was okay.
Eventually I got better and headed into the venue and I had to drink tons of water since I was dehydrated. I was chilling by where the lines were for NKOTB M&G and eventually the guys came down one by one to go back into the VIP tent it was hard to get their attention but did get Brian’s attention and when he saw me he had a huge smile on his face and waved at me, even couple of fans around me was happy for me for that moment. Shortly Katie met up with me and we hanged out pretty much until I had to go get my spot. We went to the Wylee party and we basically just chilled out watching how things were going and fans kept showing up and it seemed the crowd didn’t die down until about 3 hours later. I saw Baylee in the Wylee vehicle and he looked so tired from helping all day and I just waved at him and he waved back I think he looks so different with his haircut. I went around to find Jodi and say hello and gave me a hug and somehow I got in to talk to Brian I just wanted to ask him something and say hello and he actually asked me if I wanted a photo so of course I said yes and took it myself and told thank you.
At some point I went and got my spot and didn’t leave from there so sadly I didn’t get to go and see 98 degree’s perform.
When NKOTBSB came out I was ready to go and so happy to be seeing this show one last time! Brian waved at once, AJ waved at me twice. Nick hardly came over to our side which pissed me off but that’s okay. I got eye contact with NKOTB I honestly was just enjoying the show.
Towards end of Everybody AJ was on our side and I got his attention and he looked at me and called me beautiful and smiled, I asked him for the bracelet he was wearing for No bullying and he gave me it which made me smile.
When the show ended it was sad and I didn’t want it to end eventually we all made it to get something to eat at McDonald’s and back to the hotel.
The next day we had one more thing to attend which was the
Rock and Jock Softball game with Backstreet Boys and New Kids On The Block. We arrived at good timing we got to see the guys pratice and goof around and the softball game itself was fun to watch as well although I think the only one on BSB side that knew how to play and what was going on was Brian LOL but it was fun to watch them all play, have fun and joke around.
The drive back to Raleigh was LONG due to a lot of traffic and it did seem like forever and Anna dropped me off at the hotel and the bed was so comfortable I passed out until I had to get up and head to the airport.
